WOODSTOCK, NY, DATE XXX—Cameron-Zemtsov Design Associates, LLC, (CZDA) announces its first design offering: The Regal Lion Sculpture, a custom-made, limited edition piece of functional art, meticulously fabricated in Sterling Silver, 18K gold, or Platinum accented with precious stones. Each piece sits in a handmade display base of mahogany or Gabon ebony, or can be displayed atop a bottle of fine wine or an elegant crystal decanter.

CZDA was established in 2015 by wildlife jewelry designer Rick Cameron and master jewelry artisan Boris Zemstov. Reflecting the partners’ dedication to the cause of saving endangered wildlife, 5% of the company’s sales will be donated to Born Free USA. Fittingly, the animal advocacy nonprofit organization had declared 2016 as “The Year of the Lion.”

The making of the Regal Lion is so demanding of skill and time that CZDA anticipates a very limited output—no more than 50 pieces per year. It is a signed and numbered limited edition of 24 pieces in 950 Platinum, 50 pieces in 18K Gold, and 100 pieces in Sterling Silver. “The design of the lion sculpture requires an exacting level of craftsmanship that is within the capability of no more than a handful of jewelry artisans,” says Mr. Cameron. “My partner, Boris Zemtsov, renowned in the industry as one of the finest gem setters in America, is among this elite group of extraordinary masters.

Influenced by Art Deco and Gothic design, with an original and modern interpretation, the superbly sculpted lion head figure is the first of what will be a series of objets d’art designed by CZDA. Like the Regal Lion, future designs in their collection will pay homage to the world’s magnificent endangered wild creatures and combine sculptural beauty with functionality.

“Passionate about protecting wildlife and wilderness, Mr. Cameron is known for his unique, majestic, and mystical animal jewelry designs,” says Mr. Zemstov. “I’ve been working with him for more than 20 years, and am pleased we have partnered to create an inspired new line of ‘art with a function.”

“I have always felt that man has a fundamental responsibility to preserve and protect wilderness and wildlife,” says Mr. Cameron. “During the 28 years that I have been designing wildlife jewelry, my business has often responded to appeals from a variety of worthy conservation organizations. With my new business collaboration developing non-jewelry functional art objects based on my wildlife designs—the first of which is a Deco-Gothic inspired lion sculpture/wine or decanter stopper—my partner and I decided to commit a percentage of sales to Born Free USA for its wonderful work protecting lions and other threatened wildlife.”

Adam M. Roberts, CEO, Born Free USA, says, “This elegant lion decanter stopper is truly a sophisticated work of functional art that should be proudly displayed and used. The lion is a fitting image as it both honors Elsa, the lioness who inspired Born Free, as well our constant efforts to protect lions and other imperiled species. We are profoundly grateful to Cameron-Zemstov Design Associates for creating such an enchanting piece and donating a portion of the sales to benefit our work to keep wildlife in the wild, as well as their commitment to donate a portion of the sales of future functional art sculptures.”
